Like Tony Montana alludes in Scarface, "I don't like to get political.." but the chaos with ENRON is blossoming out to be an ideal domestic arena for the Bush administration to usurp more conserative authority on the exploits of Blue America of the last 5-6 years. Bush is Red America (based on the wonderful article in the Atlantic Monthly One Nation, Slightly Divisible).
So what does this mean? Nothing and Everything. The same and the unprecedented. A more mature American audience is ready to expose its weakness(es), because by being aware of them we can understand how to improve them for the social good overall. So here it is: The Rich like to get rich and the Poor get exploited by the Rich
Now the 'Rich' and the 'Poor' don't exactly mean people with money and people without money necessarily, it is more about the power of information control and how it is used for monetary gain. Mostly urban (Blue) citizens are information savvy where as (Red) citizens typically get less fresh "real-time" data...be it by whatever cause/effect relationship you can stereotype for such a generality :)
With family values VERY IN right now, WE are finally reflecting on how united we stand as a country from a domestic point of view...Thus a family fued between the blue and red siblings...
Can America with its red white and blue symbol of enriched culture and history leverage that as a modern identity to unite both Blue and Red under one "roof"? I am a Cuban/Ecuadorian born in Columbus, Ohio -- there is much to melt before we mass brand ourselves as a united whole in the face of terror....or ourselves
